Our U.S. Constitution stems from our Declaration of Independence which references “Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The U.S. Constitution was constructed in such a fashion as to have the least amount of law in order to protect ones naturally born individual unalienable rights, maintaining civility within our nation with the least amount of government intrusion.
Individual natural unalienable rights, means no one can take any of those rights away unless the individual(s) agrees to it. We lend not give away some rights to a structured small government to maintain a stable environment for all.
We are not a pure Democracy but a representative Republic, meaning the people have representatives from their cities, towns, state and at federal level to represent the peoples will. To have pure Democracy only leads to mob rule leaving out people who may have their natural rights encroached upon, so we elect representatives to govern. This ensures the greatest opportunity of preserving naturally born rights for everyone.
Our nation is unique from the rest of the world because our framers of the U.S. Constitution, which fought a war with England, threw off an all-powerful centralized government. We left England’s grasp at a heavy cost in lives in order to regain our freedom from centralized tyranny, returning control of our natural rights that was mostly taken away.
Your natural rights of life, liberty and happiness are the baseline by which we all naturally operate from. Understanding these rights we elect representatives to oversee and protect those rights.
Today we are facing the result of 100 years of Progressive centralized over controlling elitists at the federal level that have instituted controls that have degraded too much of our natural rights.
Today there are some who call themselves Nationalists. A Nationalist fixates only at our federal level in our nation as the most powerful and that is not how our U.S. Constitution was constructed or agreed to by the original 13 colonies, Colonies which became our first states of the United States. The federal level is supposed to be limited in power; not so today.
The individual in America must be awake and always engaged in government business at all levels so it does not draw too much power to itself, as it has done so today.
There is a growing danger today by many that do not understand our structure of government which is meant to prevent all power going to a central government. To lean on such centralized power (Nationalist) invites tyranny; remember Nazi Germany?
So how did we get here? Because the people did not understand nor did they have the time to stay focused on people that would abuse their power; busy with common living.
Our Constitution was written in such a skeletal fashion of laws that it demands the American people stay focused on government at all times. The Constitution was built for limited government. Stay focused on your government or it will stay overly focused on you!
