Most Important Natural Right: Individual Protection

As Americans or any human being for that matter we have natural rights. These are not rights you obtain from a government; all mankind have natural rights.

The Bill of Rights was added to our U.S. Constitution to illuminate as a people that we have certain unalienable rights. These natural rights are in the Preamble found in the Declaration of Independence that says –

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

The most important right in my opinion is the one that was written as a reminder to our government that “We The People” can protect against the loss of our natural rights which was penned as the 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution –

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Based on our history of being under severe control by England in ways contrary to human decency it’s no wonder the right to keep and bear arms to protect ourselves against tyranny by a government was necessary to add to the U.S. Constitution.

If we did not illuminate the right to keep and bear arms in our U.S. Constitution we may have very well fallen hard long ago to an iron fisted tyrannical government with the loss of all our natural rights that we fought so hard to get back from England so long ago.
